Make Compost Like Never Before

Our current waste management practices for organics consist of hauling away tons of food waste to the outskirts of the cities. This creates a missed opportunity to use the final product ‘compost’ in the soil and improve its structure either to grow food or landscapes that will conserve water. The demand is so big that we did not reach the 2025 goal for organics diversion. Composting in cities may be disastrous if not properly managed because there could be an outbreak of pests because of the high food supply. Compost leachate runoff poses a risk for water supply.  Current composting systems do not have a lot of options addressing these problems in specific. The other issue is that these machines are big and require 3 phase or high voltage. With certain buildings running at capacity of their energy consumption this poses a new problem, installing a solar panel may cost $32,000 plus the cost of the machine. Some establishments may not have the space available to have space or need for a huge machine. Blower system installed which are more compact are not trapping leachate plus the lines used for air are made of PVC pipe, PVC pipe releases toxic fumes (hydrogen chloride and dioxin, phthalates, lead additives when heated making it risky. 

Therefore, there is a need for a machine that actually produces compost onsite without the worry of a pest breakout and to ease the management of food scraps. The unit uses low energy, does not require water to compost, and is compact enough it can be moved around by 2 people and that uses very little energy is truly needed.
